A Research on the Impact of NLP Art Group Therapy on Out-of-School Youths' Career Preparation and Career Maturity

Abstract
The of the study was to investigate the effects of NLP art group therapy program for career on the career maturity and career preparation activity on out of school youths. 24 out-of-school youths who wished to participate in the program were selected at the J Youth Counseling Center in Jeonju city, 12 of which were randomly assigned to the study group and the remaining 12 were assigned to the control group. Two sessions per week, one session for 90 minutes, and a total of 12 sessions. The study group received Career NLP art group therapy and the control group received no intervention. Career NLP art group therapy program was given to the control group after the completion of this study. Normality check was done on the data using independent t-test analysis, then paired t-test was used to compare the difference between the control and the study group in their career maturity and career preparation activities. The study results are as follows. First, there was a significant difference in Career NLP art group therapy group in overall career maturity, including subcategories such as independence, planning, attitude to work, self-understanding all were shown to have significant effect. Second, the Career NLP art group therapy for out of school youths program was shown to have significant effect on career preparation activities including subcategories such as information collection activities, selecting jobs/courses activities, job experience activities, and job-seeking activities.
